Observing a Spider Weaving Its Web
Observing a small spider weaving its web in the corner of my balcony was a fascinating experience that let me admire the amazing skill of this tiny creature. I found the black spider early in the morning, and it started to spin silk from its abdomen, making a thin frame between the balcony rail and a potted plant first. Then it wove radial lines from the center to the frame, like the spokes of a wheel. After that, it wove spiral lines around the radial ones, moving in a circle and pulling the silk tight to make a strong net. It took the spider over an hour to finish the web, which was delicate and perfect, like a piece of fine lace. When a fly flew into the web later, the spider ran over quickly and wrapped it in silk. This observation taught me that even the smallest creatures have incredible skills, and patience and careful work can create something amazing. It also made me respect all living things in nature, big or small.
